The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a constitutional monarchy, ruled since 1952 by His Majesty King Hussein. With the passing of the monarch in February of 1999, the King’s eldest son, His Majesty King Abdullah, ascended the throne. In Jordan, executive power is vested in the Council of Ministers which is appointed by the King, and which is accountable to a two house parliament. The 55 members of the Upper House are appointed by the King, while the110 deputies of the Lower House are elected by popular vote. Constitutional provisions define the rights and duties of Jordanian citizens, while guaranteeing the right of free worship, opinion, press, association and private property.


Companies Control Department - Jordan 

Companies Control Department (CCD) is one of the governmental Departments that submits the services for investment enterprises and provides a safe and stable investment environment within the provisions of companies law No. (22) of 1997 and its amendments and the issued regulations by its virtue  and the related laws.

Jordan Investment Board 

The Jordan Investment Board is a government institution committed to working with the private sector to promote Jordan for its unique and friendly business environment and diverse investment opportunities. The JIB presents state-of-the art services for facilitating registration and licensing procedures for projects, and offers all possible simplified procedures for investment.


Jordan Deposit Insurance Corporation 

This Corporation is an independent public corporation, which was established on September 2000, to reimburse depositors up to JD 50,000 per depositor per bank if a bank fails.


Jordan Securities Commission 

Public shareholding companies were established in the early 1930’s. Ever since, Jordanian public have been subscribing and dealing in shares. Corporate bonds were issued in the early sixties. Transactions were handled in individual brokerage offices. Thus, the need for a well-organized market aroused, and the establishment of the Amman Financial Market (AFM) became crucial. January 1, 1978 was the birth of a leading securities market in the region. Since then, the AFM played the role of the stock exchange as well as a regulatory body.


Jordanian Judicial Council 

The Judicial Council has the legal authority to manage and supervise all judges in the Kingdom on matters related to employment, mandates, loans, promotions, transportation, accountability, discipline, and referral to retirement.
